Websites of organisations in Hawaii - Alex's new home:
In the recent past, our group's focus has shifted to supporting the Hawaiian transplant community because a lot of us fans love Alex's home Hawaii and its people. It just makes a lot of sense and simply feels "right" to us to support organ donor families and transplant recipients in Hawaii - like we did in our latest fundraising campaigns which all benefitted "Legacy of Life Hawai'i".

Website of the former Outlive Yourself Foundation (previously Taylor's Gift Foundation that was supported by Alex up until 2018)

Taylor's Gift Foundation merged with The Southwest Transplant Foundation in 2018 and became the Outlive Yourself Foundation. Two years later, the Outlive Yourself Foundation seems to have become an integral part of the Southwest Transplant Alliance (STA) and seems to no longer exist as an individual foundation. Here's the link to the STA's Facebook page:

Update: Taylor's Gift Foundation is back online since late 2021 under its old name with this website:

To get information (even free brochures) on transplantations, this is probably the best source.
P.S.: I no longer have access to this website but maybe access was limited to U.S. users.

Excellent BBC-documentary showing the full, real-life process of organ donation & transplantation
A huge "Thank You" to the donor family and everyone shown in this video for giving permission to be filmed! Please note that there are a few scenes (in the OR) that might be hard to watch for sensitive viewers but, overall, this 1-hour documentary is definitely worth watching to the very end!

Cleveland Clinic website - Info on heart transplants (and much more):
Check out the information provided online by the renowned clinic that gave Alex the great opportunity to do research for his role. For the medical specialists among you - there is also an impressively long list of publications by Dr. Gonzalez-Stawinski (View section on publications by staff) - He's the terrific guy who 'trained' Alex for his role and allowed him to look him over the shoulder in the OR.
